'Maatraan' Music Review - the killer combo holds on

KV Anand, Surya and Harris Jeyaraj are back in action with Maatraan. Having weaved magic before with Ayan and Ko, a lot of expectations were on the cards. The movie will feature Surya as twins (conjoined for a part). Hoping to see them make it big again, I started listening to the songs, each of which has a different lyricist working on the background. Once I was done, I wasn't very surprised. If you are wise, you have guessed it already.

Suriya Highest paid in Kollywood compare to Vijay?

Suriya is doubtless one of the most bankable stars in Tamil cinema, thanks to his films that vary from one another and clean scripts that largely entertain family audience. Now that the actor is working on the biggest project of his career, Maattrraan, rumor mills have it that he is the highest paid star in the Tamil film industry!
Media reports have it that the actor was paid a whooping 12 crore for Maattrraan, sans the remuneration for the Telugu rights of the film making it 20 crore plus! However sources close to the actor haven't commented about this and we can't be sure of how much of it is true and how much of it is a figment of rumor mills' imagination.
Meanwhile, Subash Chandra Bose has reportedly expressed to a publication that a film with Suriya for their banner will go on floors come February 2013.
Suriya currently has a number of biggies in his hand including 'Singam 2' with Hari, 'Thupariyum Anand' with Gautham Menon among others

Maatraan new style of surya

Suriya plays conjoined twins in Tamil film 'Maatraan'
There has been a sudden rise of a new trend in K-town, with the directors looking at making films about conjoined twins. Priyamani is doing conjoined twins in her upcoming Charulatha and Maatraan has Suriya doing the same.

KV Anand had supposedly narrated the script of Maatraan to Suriya in 2009. But they couldn’t take it forward then due to the lack of technology.

KV Anand has also revealed in an interview that Maatraan is an inspiration from the true story of Thailand based Siamese twins Ying and Sang.“I read an article about them, which inspired me to come up with a similar story. I imagined how would it be if two people, who are physically conjoined, completely differ in their ideologies,” expressed KV Anand.

Suriya plays Vimalan, a guy drawn to the works of Bharathiyaar and Gibran, and Akilan, a usual party guy. The film apart from Kajal Aggarwal has two Russian actresses, Irene Maleeva and Julia Flisch in important roles. This is also said to be the first ever Tamil film to star Russian actors.

Suriya is the highest paid actor!

According to sources in Kollywood, senior-most stars like Rajini and Kamal Haasan have a totally different range of pay packet from the senior actors. Senior actors like Vijay, Suriya, Ajith, Vikram etc belong to a different league. It is this league of stars we are talking about.

Among the young breed of stars, Suriya seems to be the highest paid actor. It is interesting to note that his pay packet in Matraan is 3 crores more than what Vijay had got for Velayutham. More than that in circulate payment for Surya 1 day 1 lakh salary.
